Just got back from a hike around the majority of trails and I am kicking myself for not bringing my bike!  Most of it would be very nice ridding, with some areas that are little slimy but not soft.  There are the low areas around the quarry that are flooded along with a couple other locations that are holding water.

Someone tell the rain to STOP!!

Hey, thanks for posting!  I'm surprised it's not worse!  My mood just improved a bit!  I just need to stop looking outside.

Rock on!

Was at Sylvan yesterday and it should be listed as CLOSED right now.  Every low spot on the west end is underwater, including the area right after crossing the main bridge.  It is not possible to ride a complete loop anywhere.  Water was touching the underside of both bridges.

Has anyone been out to Sylvan lately? Is it rideable at all, or still suffering from post-flood disorder?

I was planning on making it out for maintenance once the flood receded, but have not done so - Sorry!  Just have too much going on right now...

It could probably be classified as open, not sure how many obstructions are on the trails...

Thanks Nate. I think I'll check it out tonight, and will update on the conditions.

Rick and I were out for a ride this weekend with our kids.  My daughter (Becky the original!) my soon to be daughter in law (Tiffanie) and I were riding on the upper path along the river~~~  Right were I feel and messed up my knee.  Tiffanie had us look down the hill and there was YUCKY water all over the place~~~where trails are suppose to be!         It  looked like a small pond!  When we hooked up with the guys, they said it was a mess everywhere!

Good luck!

After riding it today, it seems that Sylvan is still in transition. At best, it is 50% rideable. The standing water and the overall mucky conditions on the west and northwest sides definitely makes it not fun.

The most irritating part is the MOSQUITOES! I stopped for 5 seconds to adjust my helmet, and had over a dozen of them on me! Yuck!

That said, I hardly recognized certain parts of the island because the plants and vegetation has filled in quite a bit. It almost looks more like a mature forest out there! Kindof nice! There are some smaller twigs/trees down, but nothing that a trail day won't fix! :)
