A big "THANKS!!!" goes out to Roger, Scott, Dave and Carol for the work they have done on the trails the past 2 weeks. I went for a ride out there this evening and it was great.

At the trail head, I ran into a father and a very young daughter trying out the mountain bike trails. She just got a new mountain bike and wanted to try it out. They were really enjoying themselves.

So, all the hard work this club has done has really opened opportunities for other people to build lasting memories.

After watching this father and daughter strengthening their relationship on our trials, I am so thankful to be a part of a mountain bike club that built these trails not only here but also at Sunderbruch, Sylvan, and Loud Thunder.

Sometimes club politics gets in the way and we lose track of what we are all about. Riding, building trails, maintaining trails, and most important, being part of a mountain bike family called FORC.

Lets keep up the good work, because we have accomplished so much for mountain biking in the Quad Cities,

Brad

PS: Aaron, hows this for my 1st post???

Amen brotha!

Brad, I'd like to add your name and Aaron's to the thanks list.....  John and I are so appreciative of all the work you guys (and gals) have done.  It's neat to have several trail systems to choose upon when planning a ride.

Rock on!

Carol & I would also like to thank everyone in FORC for the opportunity to help build and ride great trails in the QC. This sport started for us as a way to not get fat and turned into a minor obsession. We obviously have a soft spot for Scott County Park...so

Thanks to the hierarchy of FORC and especially Aaron and Brad for their patience and tenacity to go from 'red tape' at the park board to neon pink on the park trees. Our thanks to the park board and the super group of rangers at the park who have bent over backwards to help us whenever they could. Without that, mp & I would still be bleeding after every ride, and have to feel like a criminal if we clipped back a rose bush. Not to be too corny but the completion of this north area is a dream come true for us. We have been riding out there for 9 years and worried each time that the park would decide to close it to bikes the next time we showed up. FORC's dilegence and cooperation through the planning stages have allowed us follow through by committing our time to building the trails. As lousy as the weather was early in the season, it allowed mp & I to do our 'daily workouts' out there digging trail with giant smiles on our faces rather than in the basement on the Nordic Trac. The first time I fired up the gas weed whacker and walked proudly into the woods I said to Carol that "I have had more fun out in ScoCoPa's woods but I've never been happier."
So thank you all again for making this happen. FORC has 4 great trail systems that we love to ride, and are proud to work on... even if SCP means a little bit more to us.
peace
dave & carol
