Rode out to check on damage.   Didn't go on the trails but looked like Kickapoo Down might have a few trees down and Four Corners got hit hard. Started to rain so I took off.

The SBP TCC plans on heading out to SBP tonight after work to take a look at what we have down.  Hopefully we can get some or all of it cleared tonight, but something tells me it might be more than we can handle in one evening.

We also have officially lost the back half of Palos.  Eventually we will rebuild and extend that trail down the hill a little more, but in the meantime we need to rake in a small reroute to get people turned around safely.

If you are interested in coming out tonight, the SBP Trail Crew will be out there around 5:30.

PS:  Unless you are carrying a bunch of tools or people, please DO NOT drive to the top of the hill.

Unfortunately, John and I have more tree clean up of our own to do.  We will be working on that for probably the next month.  My goodness Mother Nature has been crabby!

Thanks for heading out and fixing things up!!  I was actually surprised to see what remained of Palos when we were out there last week.  I knew they were going to be reclaiming some land, but I had imagined them taking a lot more.  So, despite work to do, it's cool we got to retain what we did.  Thanks again SBP TCC for squaring it away!

Rock on!

Like AG said, we will be out there again tonight for anyone that wants to come out and help clean up.  We removed somewhere around 30 trees last night, and there is still much more to do.  Not sure what time I'll be out there, but it should be before 5:30.  If you come out and want to know where we are, give me a call at 563-529-2752

I will be out as well.  Plenty of cutting and raking to be done.

I only race to beat Andrew...

I had no idea it was that bad down there  If I didn't have the kids and people from out of town...I would be down there helping.

I'm sorry.  I feel terrible for you guys.

There is always someplace in the world dry enough for kick'n up a little dirt. FIND IT AND LET THE REST OF US KNOW!

4 of us finished Farmdale. Right now all of the green is ridable. I do not know the condition of the rest of the loops. It would appear that someone had been down LT.

Brad, John and I took down a large tree that was across the green loop.  Must have fallen last night or today   We cleared Blue Mound, Sugar Bottom, and Kettle Moraine.  Forgot our rake, but we kicked the loose stuff off as best as we could.  Work still to be done:

LT:  One 5 or 6 inch tree across the trail at the top of the hill right after the first creek crossing, around that bend, across the courduroy and up that hill.

Rock Cut

Palos (a disaster area)

John and I may go back out sometime Saturday morning if we can get the chainsaw running (it died tonight and that's why we stopped).

Rock on!
