River Action is looking for two bike repair volunteers for  Ride the
River on Fathers Day, June 15.  We are looking for a person to work at  Bass Street Landing  and one in the Sylvan Island area.   Hours would be from about 8AM until 3PM.  Mainly it would be for pumping tires and adjusting brakes or derailers. I know this is a difficult day to ask for volunteers,  but any help would be appreciated. Call me at 563-332-5373  or email  qcbc34@gmail.com  and Thanks

Jerry, If no one posts up here, check with the local Bike shops. The LBS's have been an increduble resource for support in the biking community, they're in it for the long haul- and they understand that growing the bicycle market will make them a ton more money than cut throating and bad mouthing each other.

Good luck with Ride the River- I'll be fishing with my dad, and so will my kids!

The local bike shops are going to have repair stations set up along the course but River Action is looking for a couple other volunteers to set up additional stations along the route.

SCOT.............If the answer isn't beer or bicycles, you asked the wrong question.

Karen and I are going to do mechanical support at Sylvan Island on Sunday from 7:30 to 11:00.  If anyone has some free time ( the trails are too wet to ride ) and would like to relieve us, the folks at River Action would greatly appreciate the effort.

You don't have to be a master mechanic to help out.  Pumping tires, fixing flats, adjusting brakes is about the extent of the repairs.

       Hope to see you there.

Scot, that's cool!  HJ and I will be manning the FORC station at the healthy Living Fair at the Bottanical Center from 9-Noon on Sunday.

Rock on!
