Spring is slowly creeping in but the trails aren't ready for traffic yet. Help keep them in good shape by staying off until they've firmed up. It will still be a few weeks... The exception being Sylvan Island which is usually rideable by early/mid March due to it's fast drying rocky soil. Local dirt trails are extremely sensitive to rut damage during the spring thaw. Soils are saturated from snow melt and thawing frost resulting in trails with the consistency of pudding. Riding or even walking on trails in this condition can cause severe erosion & rutting issues and will keep them closed longer. Trails dry slower when rutted since they hold pools of water. Be patient and let the trails thaw and dry out over the next few weeks. Use the improving weather to check out the local paved bike trails and build the fitness so you're ready to shred the trails when they do open. Our trail volunteers thank you in advance!

I got about 1/2 of Dorrance leaf blowed yesterday and with the correct safety gear I removed the 4 downed trees/branches on the Uncle Ruckus trail.

Winter weather is here and local trails will be experiencing freeze thaw cycles. This means conditions will be unsuitable for riding (as well as foot traffic) until the ground freezes solid and daytime temperatures stay well below freezing. Click here to learn more.
When the days get shorter and weekday riding opportunities fade, some riders opt to strap on lights and hit the trails after dark. Below are the current policies of local parks regarding night riding and after dark trail closures.
