The shelter is finished! This project hasn't been without it's complicaitons, but it is finally done! Thanks again to everyone who made it possible!
FORC invites the Quad Cities community to the grand opening of the Sylvan Island Shelter. The 20’ x 24’ Poligon Shelter has been completed and looks beautiful in its location on the island near the information kiosk. It stands in tribute to FORC and its founder Rick Wren and his wife Joan. The pavilion will be a great gathering space for visitors to the island and serves as a lasting tribute to the Friends of Off Road Cycling and what our club of volunteers has brought to the Quad Cities outdoor community. This project has been a lengthy endeavor and would not have been possible without the generosity of so many supporters. We are so lucky to have had our Quad Cities community rally around our efforts to build the shelter. FORC would like to express our gratitude to Moline Parks and Recreation, Moline Regional Community Foundation for their substantial donation of $10,000, Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, QC1 Research, Century Electric, Port Byron Great River Tug Fest, Quad Cities Trail & Ultra Runners, Endurance Tribe, RYMAK Construction and to all our FORC supporters for the individual contributions we’ve received during our racing events and other activities. Please join FORC on Thursday, July 11, 2:00pm to help us pay tribute to the Wrens and say Thank you to all who made this beautiful Pavilion possible. FORC will also be gathering again on Saturday, July 13, 1:00pm with a picnic and ride on the island with FORC Presidents, FORC OGs, FORC members and all others who wish to join us for the celebration. FORC is looking forward to celebrating with you!
Huge thanks again to all the racers, volunteers, and sponsors for making another great FSTR possible!

We're giving away custom trail volunteer t-shirts as a way to say thanks to the volunteers who help maintain local trails and encourage new volunteers to get involved! These will not be available for sale and must be eared by sweat. Get a trail volunteer card, volunteer for 5 trail days, turn in the card, and then get a shirt! Check out how this all works here: Earn Your Shirt!

Winter weather is here and local trails will be experiencing freeze thaw cycles. This means conditions will be unsuitable for riding (as well as foot traffic) until the ground freezes solid and daytime temperatures stay well below freezing. Click here to learn more.
When the days get shorter and weekday riding opportunities fade, some riders opt to strap on lights and hit the trails after dark. Below are the current policies of local parks regarding night riding and after dark trail closures.
