We are in need of a volunteer to fill the Trail Steward position at Stephens Park in Moline. Stephens has a little less than 2 miles of singletrack trail built along the steep ravines of the park. It is a unique urban trail system for the area. If we can't fill this position before Nov. 4th (our next monthly meeting) we have decided to permanantly suspend maintenance of the trail and focus those resources elsewhere.
Shoot us an email if you're interested or post in the Stephens Park forum "Search for Steward" topic.

We’re just days away now! Here is the most current route, although route creation can be finicky so I’ll list a couple caveats and addition notes in the comments, as well as convenient store locations on route. It will get fairly warm so be sure to have a plan to hydrate and fuel. Both SAG vehicles will have multiple large water jugs and extra gatorades to keep you going, but there is a chance as the day progresses we won’t be able to cover everyone as they spread out. We will have HyVee sandwiches at the Sunderbruch SAG. Bring some cash to chip in if you plan on eating. See you all soon! 2024 Duro Route GPS Track via Strava Notes: - Sylvan Island can be tough to navigate, so try to stay with a group at least until that point of the day. If you find yourself without an experience Sylvan racer, either ride two laps of the marked route, which is roughly 2 miles each, or choose your own adventure until you have 4 miles under your belt. - Cross river at Arsenal bridge, centennial can be used as a backup if the dam is allowing barge traffic or its otherwise closed - There is a very brief section of construction on the bike path between Sunderbruch and Dog Park, which can be biked around - There is a much longer stretch of construction after that, which you will need to follow the route detour signs to get around. - The Eldridge Rail Trail should be ridden starting at Lincoln and 1st St to the south first, counterclockwise, then follow the one lane singletrack until the trail ends - Enter Scott County Part at the top of Tarmac, located on 270th beyond the normal park entrance. This is on the route but we are forced to avoid the very start of this trail due to construction. - Because of that construction, DIRTO riders will need to park at the main trailhead at Pride Lake and ride up the pavement to this entry point -There is road construction on the way to Dewitt at the Wapsi river bridge on Old highway 61. It may say it's closed but it's easily passable as of today The SAG vehicles will be a grey Nissan Frontier and a Blue Dodge Ram. We will point them out the morning of the event. Location of SAGs:
The shelter is finished! This project hasn't been without it's complicaitons, but it is finally done! Thanks again to everyone who made it possible!
FORC invites the Quad Cities community to the grand opening of the Sylvan Island Shelter. The 20’ x 24’ Poligon Shelter has been completed and looks beautiful in its location on the island near the information kiosk. It stands in tribute to FORC and its founder Rick Wren and his wife Joan. The pavilion will be a great gathering space for visitors to the island and serves as a lasting tribute to the Friends of Off Road Cycling and what our club of volunteers has brought to the Quad Cities outdoor community. This project has been a lengthy endeavor and would not have been possible without the generosity of so many supporters. We are so lucky to have had our Quad Cities community rally around our efforts to build the shelter. FORC would like to express our gratitude to Moline Parks and Recreation, Moline Regional Community Foundation for their substantial donation of $10,000, Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, QC1 Research, Century Electric, Port Byron Great River Tug Fest, Quad Cities Trail & Ultra Runners, Endurance Tribe, RYMAK Construction and to all our FORC supporters for the individual contributions we’ve received during our racing events and other activities. Please join FORC on Thursday, July 11, 2:00pm to help us pay tribute to the Wrens and say Thank you to all who made this beautiful Pavilion possible. FORC will also be gathering again on Saturday, July 13, 1:00pm with a picnic and ride on the island with FORC Presidents, FORC OGs, FORC members and all others who wish to join us for the celebration. FORC is looking forward to celebrating with you!
Huge thanks again to all the racers, volunteers, and sponsors for making another great FSTR possible!

Winter weather is here and local trails will be experiencing freeze thaw cycles. This means conditions will be unsuitable for riding (as well as foot traffic) until the ground freezes solid and daytime temperatures stay well below freezing. Click here to learn more.
When the days get shorter and weekday riding opportunities fade, some riders opt to strap on lights and hit the trails after dark. Below are the current policies of local parks regarding night riding and after dark trail closures.
Probably unpopular question?
I just picked up a full suspension emtb a few weeks back. From everything I've read and understood class 1 bikes are good, but when you get into class 2 or 3 that's a different story. I'll be going...
