Nominations Are Open.
Want to give back to local mountain biking scene without getting all sweaty? Volunteer for a position on the FORC board! Help plan the future direction of the club, organize key events, and generally keep the wheels on the rails. It's probably more laid back than you think.
Positions up for election are:
We're now taking nominations in this thread over on the forum. Nominations remain open until Nov. 30th and the election will be held at the December Membership Meeting on Mon. Dec. 2nd. For more details about the positions, visit our bylaws page or feel free to reach out to any of the current board members with questions.
Must be a current member in good standing to be nominated. Click here to join or renew your membership.
We are in need of a volunteer to fill the Trail Steward position at Stephens Park in Moline. Stephens has a little less than 2 miles of singletrack trail built along the steep ravines of the park. It is a unique urban trail system for the area. If we can't fill this position before Nov. 4th (our next monthly meeting) we have decided to permanantly suspend maintenance of the trail and focus those resources elsewhere.
Shoot us an email if you're interested or post in the Stephens Park forum "Search for Steward" topic.
There will be LIMITED day-of registration this year. Participants are urged to register online through BikeReg. Registration closes Friday Jan. 24th at 10:00 am!

We're giving away custom trail volunteer t-shirts as a way to say thanks to the volunteers who help maintain local trails and encourage new volunteers to get involved! These will not be available for sale and must be eared by sweat. Get a trail volunteer card, volunteer for 5 trail days, turn in the card, and then get a shirt! Check out how this all works here: Earn Your Shirt!
Who are the Friends of Off Road Cycling (or FORC for short)? Winter weather is here and local trails will be experiencing freeze thaw cycles. This means conditions will be unsuitable for riding (as well as foot traffic) until the ground freezes solid and daytime temperatures stay well below freezing. Click here to learn more.
When the days get shorter and weekday riding opportunities fade, some riders opt to strap on lights and hit the trails after dark. Below are the current policies of local parks regarding night riding and after dark trail closures.
