Default The Great Weed Whack @ SBP 06/22/14 8am

    Sunderbruch Park

    This Sunday, June 22nd

    8am (beat the heat)

It's time to get Sunderbruch Park in pristine condition for the Forc Side Thrill Ride!

The club has 4 weed whackers, a few walk-behind string trimmers, and a DR brush remover.

    Bring:
    weed whacker, extra string, fuel

If you don't have a WW, bring a pair of loppers...If you don't have loppers, bring yourself...we'll find something for you to do!

    You'll be best off with:
long sleeve shirt and pants (unless you enjoy poison ivy)
    sturdy boots/shoes
    bug spray
    water

The club will provide pre-work and post-work refreshments.

Let's get SBP looking as great as we all know it can!

I would love to help and I a wicked allergic to poison ivy. If I ran a weed-wacker, I would end up in the hospital. What other tasks can I do?

I'm sure we can find something for you to do. Trimming face slappers and what not with a pair of loppers, run a rogue hoe with a de-berming crew (if we have/need one), among other things. Come on out and have some "fun" with us!

There will be plenty to do, so please come on out!!

Brian Kingsbury will be the Point Man for the day... I'm stuck in DSM for a wedding.

I call dibs on the stinging nettles! Rarely do I scream obsentities at plants, but I hate those little bastards. I have no tools and no experience with trail work but I love this trail system and would be happy to help. Is there a celebratory ride afterwards?

I plan to be there. Amy said I can't use her black & decker battery powered weed slapper though. I'll probably just cut down trees and bushes with my telekinetic powers unless I get my hands on one of the legit WWs first.

With last night's strong storms I wouldn't be surprised if we have some downfall out there.

Chainsaw dudes, if you're listening...bring the pain. I'm sure we'll need a saw or three.

I have just the tool for you...

Hit me (Drew) up at the trail day and it is all yours.

I'm available to bring some pain. Will also bring rogue hoes and shovels if they are needed.

I ate a pound of bacon in preparation for this event. Everything is locked, loaded, and ready to wage war on the weeds!

If it's any consolation, I had long sleeves and am still itchy. Probably need one of these to be 90% safe.

That's one of the reasons i use this. it never runs out of gas, always starts, it's quiet, it doesn't throw stuff (poison ivy) all over you, it can take out a 1/2" branch, and it improves your golf swing.

I wish I had more geek in me. I can't make the picture work.

Went to the Dr because I have a sploch (yes, a sploch...technical definition) on my eyelid. They told me to use Zanfel which is an over the counter wash that removes the urushiol (toxin responsible for the reaction). It is pretty pricey, but better than loosing an eye!
