IMBA Take a Kid Mtbing day 2015, need volunteers.

Its that time again. October 3rd.





I was waiting to post till I knew if I was going to be able to organize this again this year. And also if I would be able to move it up. Sadly I can't move it up a week or so due to overtime schedule at work, but I can do the actual day of. Sorry I've been "scarce" this season, between surgery and work/weather my doing much of anything has been really limited.





When: Saturday October 3rd. 10:00am (8:30am set up)





Location: Sunderbuch Park.





The location has been sunderbuch the last couple years, but the new Stephens park Im curious as to how it would work out as I haven't had time to get down there yet this year. Hopefully I can get there soon myself.





Looking for help with:





-Someone to grab the stuff from last year from forc storage




-someone that can do the Sams club run (and get ok from club for the bananas and Gatorade)




-help getting fliers to LBS, maybe get donations for the event.




-general help with the event itself.





So let me know thoughts on using Stephens park this year and if you can help out. Hopefully we can get word out well and weather cooperates. Be nice to get a good turnout.

I think Stephens park is a little technical for new riders. Westbrook is the best for new riders or Scott County park. Amie and I can help out the day of the event.

We ruled out Scott county and Westbrook last yr do to location. Something in the cities is best overall. The kids handled the green lol and sunderbruch with little issues, simple walked when needed. Illinwek is a possibility too (just remembered they got restroom problem sorted for the moment)

Sunderbruch is in the process of making a kids specific trail but I'm not sure if it is finished yet. That would be ideal for this event. Illiniwek would also be a good candidate and the Ranger has asked if we were interested in doing such an event at the park in the past. It may be good to move the event around every few years to draw in people from different areas.

Is there Anyone that can swing by the shed and grab the stuff from there?

I have a FORC popup canopy and a table that I can bring. Also have a case of bottled water. What else is needed?

Harris is dropping off obstacles, someone brought the FORC banner last year for the shelter, I added a big grey tarp last year too block the wind, gave that to Paul,i think is who, to put in the shed dont know if well need that or not. Might be a good idea to have it just incase the morning has a chilly breeze blowing.
